一、目前总体感觉

Nergal是像riftwalker的法师,主要功能是刷exp。但是可以同时使用多个小弟,而且小弟的功能更加全面,小弟的分类有def,off,cast。使得nergal is all trades Jake,就像reaver spider。重大缺陷是,小弟越多,玩家的stat越低。在没有太多boon和achievement的情况下,nergal的性能非常底下。而且建议先建立能够solo或者跟团的build后,先加7级nergal,学会100 Parasitic swarm,harvest vitae和reap potentia,先建立完善的boom和rep,然后再选择全面拥抱nergal。

而是使用disease要靠小弟发挥作用,mutation还没有用到。。

顺便吐槽一下node tree,选择起来真的很困难。



作为瘟疫文艺大军,该职业的玩家有五种rep。

第一种evolution points, 相当于boon,通过腐化、寄生不同的种族,做每日任务,学习'Evolutionary apex' mastery skill可以获得更多的points。想要叄小弟?来点points。要不然只能唱双簧。记着及时完成工会任务(每天最多领取5个),获得更多的进化点数。大约需要86个点数可以选择有所的boon,如果每个boon只要一点的话,换句话说,86个boon。
第二种是vitae points,potentia points。同一个mob只能收获一种points。用harvest vitae和reap potentia获得points。使用法术后,在战斗中三回合获得一次。如果取得所有points,则不能获得第三种rep。vp和pp可以喂给小弟,让他们升级。tank主要是vp,pp少喂一些,off tank就要两着大致平均,caster全部喂食pp。
第三种是racial insight。可以通过Parasitic swarm, harvest vitae和reap potentia获得。提高Parasitic swarm伤害。
第四种是nergal kownledge。通过掌控临时小弟,并使用其技能获得。别忘记及时吧掌握的技能交给永久小弟,要不然就忘了。
第五种是Chaotic Acts。实际上就是一些成就achievement。只有完成足够的成就,才能解锁很多重要的能力。

elevate themselves to greatness beyond that which mere mortals can fathom.

Nergal 101

Here’s some basic info about Nergals to get you going and ponder about possible guild combinations etc, more information might be added if deemed necessary. Poke me if you would like to have some specific info added, I’ll add em once I get enough requests per topic (not gonna add anything spoilerish).

Basics & overview

Nergals are mainly minion based “caster” guild without much melee/offensive caster capabilities by itself. Guild consists of 10 Disciple, 20 Nergal levels. Can be played as off/def/backrow depending on 2nd and 3rd guilds and how you spend evolution points.

For newbies with just one guild, this will prolly play a lot like riftwalkers would. You stand behind your tank minion, have 1-2 mage minions shooting and keep feeding hp/sp to your pets while throwing parasitic swarm DoT (your only offensive spell, Damage over Time).


Skills & spells
Nergals are rather cheap guild exp-wise, as ent/shadow it was less than 100M to train/study everything to max. Nergal guild is in the area to somewhat far east of Rilynttar, somewhere SW from castle Firefox, you need to join them in SW part of Grimoor temple first. Once inside the guild, advancing and training happens on those rooms with blue flames in the middle of the area.

Skills

Not much to mention, we only get basic skills in this area. Stab+pierce+clawed strike as offu skills, 50% parry & dodge, 0% combat sense and whatever you get from disciple (bludgeons,polearms,long blades,short blades as weapon skills,chaotic spawn).
Dreary hibernation = our version of camp, main (and best with some reputation) way to restore hp/sp to minions outside of nourish enthralled. Behaves more like meditation than camp.
Embrace the gifts = used to check insight marks, turn on auras(diseases)/mutations etc

Spells
Evaluate host = used to check various information about npc monsters (tells you whether you can enthrall it, are they melee/tank/caster types, are they of mythical origin etc)
Parasitic swarm = our only offensive spell, does poison DoT damage, gets better with rep
Awaken enthralled = awaken your permanent minions, requires corrupt ground in room
End enthrallment = used to dismiss minions
Nourish enthralled = used to feed potentia/vitae (sp/hp+ep to minions), only(?) way to get minion rep
Enthralling parasite = used to take over npc monsters as temporary minions, which can be later on turned into permanent ones
Harvest vitae/Reap potentia = used to harvest Vitae/Potentia (used to feed hp/sp to minions and works as their rep at the same time). This also gives insight reputation (our “main” rep)
Mind siphon = used to command minions to cast spells/use skills outside of combat auto-use (mainly used for casting heals/prots/buffs outside of combat).
Corrupt ground = provides little hp/sp/ep ticks to evil people in the room (hurts good aligned ones), used mainly to awaken your minions, only works outdoors without spending extra vit/pot
Legacy of enthralled = used to give/loan your own stats to minions/party members

Diseases, these are turned on as auras with Embrace the gifts skill, can’t cast them yourself. Haven’t tested diseases too thoroughly on players so there might be even additional effects I’m missing from this list. Also diseases can be only applied via minions melee hits or offensive spells:

Masteries and talent trees

There are 3 mastery skills Conduit of the hive(minion), Immunology(disease) and Morphology(stats/mutation). These all have their own “talent tree” which has huge impact on your playstyle.

Minion tree focuses on caster/def/off minions (can have 1-3 out at once, each of them eats 10% spmax and 23-30% all stats from you, so prepare to be nearly useless yourself stat-wise with 3 minions out).

Disease tree focuses on applying diseases (interrupts/lowered stats/extra damage from minions and -resist vuln from ultimate talent from having 2+ disease on monster at once).

Stats tree focuses on your own body instead of diseases or minions (you can get quite a bit of +tank and +caster stats, nice amount of hpr and spr, few great def talents and so on).

Don’t worry too much about trying to decide your talent build in beginning, as talent nodes can be resetted with a meager amount of vitae & potentia (total amount equals to roughly maybe 3-4h of grinding?, which also is that amount of rep lost for minions)

Minions

There are two kinds of minions, temporary™ and permanent(PM). The most important thing about PMs is the race, _nothing_ else matters (except sexy description). TM will get its’ levels, skills, spells cleared upon conversion to PM. After this PM inherits the racial stats/prots/regens and so on from the TM and will start at level 1 without any skills or spells. Max level seems to be 30lvl for minions, highest of mine after 4’ish months of playing was 22 lvl or so, but I didn’t focus on just one minion, levelled like 5 different ones for testing purposes. There’s a limit of 10(?) permanent minions “in storage”, max 3 out at once and they can be freely dismissed so feel free to experiment around. At the moment cannot get rep invested back from minions if you dismiss them but that maybe changes at some point.
There are 3 types of minions:
Plaguebearer = def/meatwall, gets increased hpmax, def skills and so on
Plaguereaper = offu/hybrid, gets increased str&dex, offu melee skills, some caster stats
Blightweaver = caster (can be made into a blaster/healer/buffer/support/whatnot)
The whole process starts with you going out there to find the monster/race you want to enthrall, cast evaluate on it to see if it’s within your grasp, fight the monster till its below 30-40%(seems to success more the lower hp the target has?), cast enthralling parasite x times and voila. Now you have your first TM.
In the beginning it might be good to keep one def TM to take/share hits for you, pick one proper caster race mob and convert it to PM. Level your newly acquired mage and continue from there depending on what kinda army you want. Personally I leveled 2 mages first, tanked myself and later on started leveling two offu/hybrids.

One really important aspect of the guild is the mythical races which unlocks with more reputation. At first you can only enthrall usual player races (and random animals etc which are useless). Later on you can take on more magnificent races which are substantially better stat-wise than the ones you get at beginning. I won’t spoil any of these so go out there to explore and find some really cool races!

Minions dying doesn’t seem to be nearly as severe as riftwalker entities or animist souls(which can kill you with it), you barely lose anything but little time & sp resummoning it.

With certain minion tree talents, your melee & caster minions will learn all the basic skills (attack, cast generic, quick chant, dodge, parry, cast types from mage blasts, all the jazz etc) which will then increase with minion level ups automatically. You get to choose x amount of “active” skills and spells to them in relation to their Vitae(skills) and Potentia(spells,caster skills) on top of these “passive basic whatnot” skills. They even get low % of mastery skills like mastery of pain/medicine/assistance with the learned spells. For example, teaching unstun gives them mastery of assistance.

Teaching skills/spells to minions

This is prolly the most interesting aspect of the whole guild, you get to keep/learn the spells from monsters you enthrall, then teach them to your PMs (with certain restrictions in place). Cannot teach dest/distint and other biggest fuckery spells. You can for example learn most heals and prots etc and teach them to minions, but can only use ‘prot’ spells on yourself and minions (flex or AoA f.ex.). Buff spells can be casted at party members (unstun, unpain, aoh and so on).
Teaching skills/spells to minions costs some exp (once you’ve maxed spell once, it costs less to re-teach after your minions abilities decays in % with use) and vitae/potentia.

Forgetting skills/spells from minions seemed to be practically free for now.

Exp spent on minion skills/spells is not lost, you get to use it again the same way with animist souls when you reinc.


Daily tasks/missions & council
You can get up to 5 tasks (easy/medium/hard) per day from the one legate. Completing tasks gives you some reputation and “votes” for leadership elections. Being one of the 3 council seat holders(leaders) gives you varying effects depending on the seat(Disease/Hive/Mutation). Council seats rotate on weekly basis according to rep gain(?) and mission completions and possibly something else. Tasks vary in type and difficulty alot and can be of the following 4 types:
Room task: infect a certain room, desc is told.
Kill x size y race mob.
Kill certain mob.
Kill 4-6 targets (these are currently quite unbalanced, really hard to nail all targets and some even unkillable targets appear from time to time..


Possible guild combinations

reaver/spider/nergal
Solid combo if you wanna tank yourself and have few caster minions behind you, works well as offutank also. Seemed to have best synergy with nergals so far, spirit drain for extra spmax and quite good offu & def skills makes reaver my favourite/most efficient option so far.
This was the combo (30 spider, 30 nergal, 29 reaver) I played during beta and to give some kinda idea what they’re capable of: With my gear & boons and 64% reputation and 15-22lvl (30 max)minions my damage output as def (with 2 mage minions) was roughly the same as quite high rep erelig kharims and quite close to them def-wise also (with Reactant Tissue mutation on).
Add our jack-of-all-trades capabilities on top and it seems like a nice erelig def with ability to cast fancy spells from other guilds via minions and able to selfheal rather well also. Not sure which slot this will fill in 9mans aside from “okay def with high damage” for now, yet to be seen what changes with close to max reputation. Some kinda aohtank variant might be viable also.

tiger/spider/nergal
Nice on paper but due to the drains on our sp reserves, you won’t have too much sp to claw yourself if you keep too many sustains/minions on. Might work with one minion as solo/offu machine

priest/spider/nergal
Same as with tiger, might work with self-boosting nodes and using 1-2 minions for solo/exp runs. Needs testing and prolly quite some rep before becomes nearly as “viable” as reaver version.
